==About ESMO==

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) is a non-profit professional medical oncology society in Europe.
ESMO offers post-graduate education and training in clinical cancer care and research, and produces evidence-based recommendations for basic standards of cancer care. While the majority of ESMO's 12,000 members are medical oncologists, actual membership spans over 120 countries and also includes radiation and surgical oncologists, as well as other oncology healthcare professionals actively involved in cancer treatment, research, and patient care.
Founded in 1975 by Georges Mathé and Maurice Schneider, in Nice, France, as the Société de Médicine Interne Cancérologique, ESMO took on its present name in 1980.
